KEVIN BACON SEA CLAY OF MANICOUAGAN

The Manicouagan sea clay is a natural product resulting from a single and unpolluted ecosystem : the Quebecois peninsula of Manicouagan of the northern coast of the Saint-Laurent river.

Sea clay appeared after intense terrestrial transformations of which those were caused by a fallen meteorite in the area of Manicouagan 215 million years ago. Protected by a layer of peat, the deposit extends in edge from sea on 15 km².
Clay contains an interstitial sea water, imprisoned since unmemorable times. The analysis reveal the presence of 42 different atomic elements as well as a great diversity of marine.

The clay of Manicouagan is a muddy clay mainly made up of illite and fieldspar plagioclase.
One of the particular characteristics of the sea clay of Manicouagan is its stong content of silicates, iron oxide and alumina. This marked presence of iron oxide confers a single colouring in it. This type of clay is very rich in potassium, magnesium, sodium and is particularly rich in iron and calcium.

Available in 2kg and 9kg tubs.
