Q. How is my air jacket activated?
A. The lanyard attaches to the saddle & the jacket. In the event of the rider separating from the saddle the lanyard will pull the activation key from the jacket. Once the activation key has been pulled from the jacket it releases the CO2 in to the airbag system & inflates the air jacket in 0.1 of a second.
Q: Will I set the Air Jacket off by mistake?
A: The Point Two Air Jackets don’t inflate without a lot of pressure. They require a minimum of six stone in weight to activate the inflation mechanism. In normal practice, if you failed to unclip your jacket before dismounting, you would normally feel the slight pull of the lanyard connection when getting off to remind you to unclip your jacket. Please be aware, if enough pressure is applied to the lanyard whilst clipped to the jacket, you could, by accident set off the inflation mechanism.
Q. Can I compete in the Point Two air jacket?
A.Yes you can compete in your Point Two Air Jacket. When you are competing in Europe you must wear your Point Two Air Jacket alongside your European standard Body Protector. We recommend a body protector of a non moulded type.*
The Point Two air jacket offers additional protection, but we recommend it to be worn with traditional protective riding wear such as the EM13158 body protector.
*Our feedback has indicated that the most satisfying experience is gained with a soft flexible body protector.
