Polypads Fitting & Care InformationPolyPads Colour Scheme Simulator To see what your colour scheme will look like, Polypads have a real time simulation. Please be aware the colours may vary depending on the computer hardware you are using, but you will get a pretty good idea! Click here to go to the Polypads colour picker. PolyPads Fitting Instructions Place saddle over the PolyPad on the horse's back, hold PolyPad at each end of the saddle and pull firmly upwards into the gullet of the saddle to create airflow alond the spine. Lift the saddle flap away from the horse on each side, making sure the horse's coat is laying flat and check that the front edge of the PolyPad is sufficiently forward (10 - 12cm in front of the girth) so the shoulder movement does not pull the PolyPad downwards and backwards. Do the girth up tight enough at this point to ensure the pad cannot move before finally tightening to mount.
Leg Protectors These must be fitted from the heel upwards - ensure the straps are fitted snuggly around the pastern and lower leg, with the top straps looser so that hock and knee can flex freely. They are generously cut, so as a guide Cob Size can be around 15.2hh dependent on build. Polar Rappa's Polar Rappa's are left and right handed, the PolyPads label indicating the top on both wraps. When fitted the hook and loop closure must be on the outside of the leg. Insert ColdPak in the centre pocket. Shape the ColdPak with the edge of the hand then locate it around the tendon (below back of knee, rear of leg). Wrap loop fastening around front of leg and pull the pointed part of the hook fastening to make fixing on outside of leg. Finally, hold hook fastening out to position and then secure, first top and then bottom. If required, the ColdPak can be inserted into the front pocket (nearest hook fastening) to cool bruised shins. Bandage Rappa's These are most effective put on as a bandage - simply roll up with the hook fixings inside and unroll around the leg. Secure with fixings on outside of leg. Washing Instructions It is preferable to wash PolyPads before they are first used.
Important... Please ensure that washing and drying temperatures are adhered to, because the fullness of the fibre insert and the strength of the binding used in the manufacture of PolyPads can go brittle and be destroyed by washing and drying at too hot a temperature.
