Smart Manes mane thinners use the same principle as Smart Tails, but they have a slightly wider blade width of 3" and are brilliant on thick unruly manes. Takes replacement blades and are interchangeable.
To get the best results from these mane thinners, brush the mane out well removing any knots then brush it all over on to the "wrong side". Take the Smart Mane and comb through from the crest downwards using it more in the thicker areas. When you have achieved the thinness you require, brush the mane back on the right side and level if needed.
For a humane finish, we recommend a thinning knife or an old clipper blade which can be back combed and then it will cut it to a level but it won't look like it has been cut.
Which grade to choose?
Medium/Fine is good for soft thick manes.
Medium/Coarse is good for coarse thick manes.
