The Sprenger WH Ultra Snaffle -16mm is made from aurigan a unique metal and is a highly successful dressage legal snaffle.
The bit has been developed by Lisa Wilcox and Ernst Hoyos in partnership with Sprenger and is a double-jointed bit that features a unique roller in the center section and has proved very successful for horses that have a tendency to put their tongue over the bit, or have a generally busy mouth.
Lisa Wilcox: "This unique roller provides a gentle stimulation to the tongue, which encourages the horse to chew, prompting salivation, allowing the acceptance of the bit therefore the relaxation of the jaw. It has been Ernst and my experience that through this gentle stimulation our horses learn more quickly to accept the bit softening their entire top-line enabling us to perform the movements with more relaxation, throughness and ultimately more harmony.“
Aurigan is a patented metal with copper as its base material, that oxidises to produce a pleasant and distinctive taste that horses love, and encourages a soft relaxed jaw, wet mouth and quick acceptance of this Sprenger bit.
